I was watching Terry Gilliam’s “Brazil” when I noticed the elevator buttons in one specific scene. Lately I’ve been fascinated by buttons and tactile functions like what’s found on mechanical keyboards. I would like to do some research on the history of buttons, how they changed over the decades and why. I’m curious if the evolution of buttons on devices like phones, or even the absence of them, have anything to do with solving a problem for the users or the developers and technologists.
